Shane Philson 1999 - 2006

We have made it to the first year. A year that was hard and full of many hurts and pains. But in that year we remembered Shane and who he was. He was bright, funny, and athletic.  And even thru it we learned a little more about ourselves too.

one year ago, we lost Shane.

One year later we Remember him.

Today was a day to go back to Lott and The Blvd. And just take the time to remind motorists that they should take the time to just slow down, for the sake of Shane. People stopped and remembered, prayed and just kept the memory of Shane alive.  My wife met the young lady that has been keeping up with this whole story  through this very blog.  (motivation enough to start keeping the blog on a more regular basis now)

It touched my heart to see people pulling over to bring coffee and to pray with us. It was also moving to see the reaction of the drivers as they drove past.  You could see that some had tears. It was just hard enough for me to fight back the tears that were in my eyes.  But I know that further healing happened this day.  And the lesson that you have no Idea who is effected by your life.

Shane we Love you man.   We miss you so much.

I do.  The ones that always check on me, no matter what is going on.  The calls, the IM's the text messages. The ones that really have supported me over the years no matter what. The ones that are not fairweather but even thru my storms (and Lord knows, I have HAD some storms) were right there with me.  Friends that always have a kind word, but never afraid to keep it real with ya. Always looking out for ya, Ready to listen to you whenever there is something on your mind.  I appreciate my friends.
